Mossawa Center Launches Annual Youth Summer Workshops with Overwhelming Response
The Mossawa Center is thrilled to announce the commencement of its highly anticipated annual Youth Summer Workshops, which have attracted over 70 participants from across the country. The overwhelming interest, with more than 150 registrations, led to the early closure of registration, reflecting the strong demand for these enriching programs. Mossawa Center’s staff ensured a diverse representation of participants, emphasizing geographic diversity. The workshops scheduled from July 23rd to July 26th, will bring together youth groups from the Galilee, the Triangle, the Negev, and mixed cities, fostering networking and collaboration.
Sofia Nasra, a key organizer, extended her gratitude to all who registered and expressed hope that those who could not be accommodated in this round will join future programs. She emphasized, "These workshops are crucial in helping young men and women in secondary school understand their legal status and their individual and collective rights."
The Community Programs Coordinator at the Mossawa Center, Costa Jarjoura, highlighted that these workshops are a continuation of Mossawa Center’s ongoing community work among young people in schools and clubs. Mossawa Center engages over 2,000 youth annually through various programs, preparing groups of guides to promote community, national, and cultural work.

- Advocacy and Community Work: Participants will learn about the advocacy mechanisms and community work strategies employed by the Mossawa Center.
- Interactive Events: Activities will include an exploration of Haifa’s city facilities and a comprehensive understanding of parliamentary work and advocacy through a field visit to the Supreme Court of Justice.
- Embassy Visit: The Swedish Deputy Ambassador will host youth workshops at the embassy, providing a unique diplomatic perspective.
- Theatrical Training: The improvisational theater group, Impro’gal, will conduct training sessions, enhancing participants' creativity and expression.
- Campaign Launch: The "#SupportYourCountry" campaign will be initiated by youth groups, guided by media advisor Ala’a Aghbaria, focusing on film production and media advocacy.
- Labor Rights: A dedicated session on workers’ rights will be held at the Labor Union headquarters in Nazareth.
- Field Visits: Participants will visit Acre and Nazareth to explore Arab and Islamic architectural heritage, further enriching their cultural understanding.
- Media Engagement: A visit to an Arab media outlet will provide insights into media operations and its role in advocacy.
- Municipal Work Pioneers Program: This program aims to encourage young Palestinian Arab women in local authorities to work alongside youth, fostering leadership and community involvement.
- Skills Development: Workshops on public speaking, financial management, and community project development will equip participants with essential life skills.
