For immediate release, March 13th 2013: The Mossawa Center implemented a training on International Media for a group of participants in the "Empowering the Periphery Project: Palestinian and Bedouin NSAs activated for Community Development".

On Friday 8th and Saturday 9th of March, the 18th youth participated in series of workshops on International Media, the participants included youth from West Bank, Neqev and in a special event were joined by youth from Gaza through a video conference.
The training included lectures and workshops by media specialists including Wafa'a Abd El Rahman, director of project partner "Filastiniyat" and host on Watan TV, Marwa Jabara an experienced TV and print Journalist, Hanan Habiballah Media Coordinator from The Mossawa Center, and Maysoon Qawasmi  Director of Palestinian News Agency "WAFA".  The training included lectures and workshops on the skills of writing Press Releases, Social Media and Social Networking.

Wafaa Zriek-Srour Coordinator of project stated "The participants benefited greatly from the training, having achieved practical knowledge in fields that will support their efforts to raising international awareness.  The training also resulted in strengthened connections between the two groups from both sides of the Green Line."
The Project was supported by the European Union and is implanted in cooperation with Sidreh, Lakiya Women's Association, Filastiniyat, and the Heinrich Boll Foundation.
The Mossawa Center, the Advocacy Center for Arab Citizens in Israel, is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that works to promote equality for the Arab Palestinian citizens of Israel. Established in 1997, the Mossawa Center strives to improve the social, economic and political status of the Arab citizens of Israel, while preserving their national and cultural rights as Palestinians.
