The Mossawa Center is seeking papers and contributions for this fall’s 2016 Conference on the Legal Status of the Arab Community in Israel. The annual conference is a vital platform for discussions on the rights of and legal issues facing Arab citizens, unique in the public and CSO arenas. It brings together politicians, legal experts, academics, journalists and civil society actors from the Arab and Jewish communities, as well as international diplomatic representatives. The 2016 conference will be led in cooperation with the Northern District of the Bar Association. The Mossawa Center is seeking papers and contributions on the following topics:
- Discriminatory legislation
- Economic development in the Arab community
- New planning and housing legislation
- The separation of powers in Israel and the efficacy of the Israeli courts
- Strategies to combat racial policies targeting the Arab community
