In 2015, child psychiatrist Essam Daod was a volunteer doctor on the Greek island of Lesbos.
Essam Daod is scheduled to deliver his talk during the First Session on Tuesday, April 10, 10:15AM – 12:00PM PDT (20:15 local Haifa Time). More information on the TED2018 Conference can be found here.
Humanity Crew was created through a large-scale crowd fundraising campaign by local Palestinian-Arab youth to help refugees. The Mossawa Center took an active role in supporting the youth to build and develop Humanity Crew. With an operating base in Greece, Humanity Crew recruits, trains and deploys mental health professionals and qualified volunteers to deliver psychosocial services to refugees and displaced populations to improve refugee well-being and prevent further psychological trauma.
The TED Fellows program brings together young innovators from around the world and across disciplines, who display both outstanding achievement and exemplary character, to raise international awareness of their work and maximize their impact.
