Yesterday, March 3rd, Mossawa Center had a discussion with international activists about current status of the Arab Palestinian citizens of Israel and Mossawa's work.
Wasim Nasser, Mossawa's International Advocacy Coordinator, raised awareness on multiple issues and projects implemented by Mossawa. Nasser brought to the group's attention the issues and challenges that Palestinian Arab citizens of Israel face, such as police brutality, home demolitions, citizenship law that prevents family unification.
The participants were astonished by the level of discrimination against the Palestinian Arabs citizens of Israel, and they condemned it at a high level. To illustrate the depths of discrimination, we raised awareness about the
daily obstacles our community faces and how the Mossawa Center works with women and youth as a core part of community empowerment. We discussed the various programs Mossawa Center works on for the community, such as state budget analysis, economic development, legislation, youth and women programs, international advocacy, and more.
Moreover, participants were highly motivated to become ambassadors of the Mossawa Center to their respective countries and closely continue their relations with Mossawa.
